Stay Safe While Spotting
Your safety is the most important thing. Please follow these guidelines every time you go out spotting.
Safety Guidelines
- •Never stand on or near the carriageway
- •Always spot from a safe location (laybys, service stations, bridges, pavements)
- •Children should be accompanied by an adult near busy roads
- •Never trespass on private land or restricted areas
- •Stay aware of your surroundings
Spotting with Children
WS Truck Spotting is a family-friendly community, and we love that children enjoy spotting trucks too. However, roads and motorways can be dangerous places. Please ensure children are always accompanied by a responsible adult and never allowed near moving traffic.
Roadside Awareness
The best sightings come from safe vantage points. Laybys, service stations, bridges with pedestrian walkways, and pavements are all great places to spot. Never stop on a hard shoulder, never stand in or near a carriageway, and always be aware of vehicles around you.
Respect Property
Always spot from public land. Do not enter private property, depot yards, or restricted areas to get a better photo. If you’re unsure whether a location is public, it’s best to move on and find another spot.
